Odusanya Odutola, PhD

Acting National President

Dr. Tola Odusanya is a Chief Lecturer and the substantive Head of Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo. He attended Luba School Ijebu-Ode and Mayflower School, Ikenne (where he became Deaf at the age of 13). He was enrolled at Wesley School for the Deaf, Surulere, Lagos. He attended Methodist Boys' High School, Lagos before proceeding to Gallaudet University, Washington DC where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees. He also holds a doctorate in Educational Technology from the University of Ilorin. Dr. Tola Odusanya has held many positions in the Deaf Community including; National Secretary General and the President of Nigeria National Association of the Deaf, Assistant NPRO and NPRO of Nigeria Deaf sports federation (NDSF), Chairman Oyo state and Board member, Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation (NDSF). He was also Technical Director in Lagos State branch of NDSF. Currently, he is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Deaf Teacher Association of Nigeria. Dr. Tola Odusanya is the founder and CEO of T.O.L.A. Foundation.

Mr. Mohammed Nurudeen M. Is the National Secretary General of DTAN He attended Special Education Centre, Bauchi and General Hassan Usman Katsina Unity College before proceeding to Federal college of Education (Special), Oyo for his Tertiary education Mr Mohammed works as an Education Officer with Federal Ministry of Education.

Ms. Jenebu abel-anyebe

National Social Welfare Secretary

Ms Anyebe is a professional Special Educator with a master degree from the University of Jos, where she is currently pursuing her PhD in special education. Her professional area of interest in the field of special education is in Deaf education with special focus in early childhood/elementary deaf education. Her wealth of experience as a special teacher of special children span over 18 years . Ms Anyebe is presently a civil servant with the federal ministry of education as a principal education officer. Ms Anyebe is a member of the following professional bodies; Member, National Council for Exceptional Children(NECE), Member, Nigeria Association of Special Education Teachers(NACET). She has held various positions as vice chairperson of NACET in her state of Benue. Ms Anyebe is a gender based activist and advocate for the right of women and girls with disabilities. She belongs to different civil society organisations. She is a member of Deaf Women Association of Nigeria(DWAN) where she holds the position of the National Vice-president. She is a member, International Inclusion of Women with Disabilities(INCLUD), Member, Network of Women with Disabilities(NWD, State Coordinator) and member, Arewa Northern Deaf Women Association( ANDWA, National Secretary General). Ms Jenebu abel-Anyebe's hobbies and interest include reading, writing, traveling and discourse on International current affairs. She loves crocheting.

Salami-Rasheed

Comrade Salami Rasheed Gbenga

Comrade Salami Rasheed Gbenga is also the Chairman, Ogun State Association of the Deaf. He has held various positions both in DTAN and the wider Deaf community including; Welfare Officer, DTAN Ogun State Chapter (2015-2017) & P.R.O, Ogun State Association of the Deaf (2014-2018) Currently, Comrade Salami is an Education Officer (Counselor) with Federal Government College Odogbolu Ogun State where he has worked since 2018. Previous work experience includes Special Class Teacher at School for Children with Special Needs, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State (2008-2014) and Counselor, Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba, Lagos (2014-2018). Comerade Salami have spent 14 years teaching and counselling Deaf students and hopes that his students become great leaders in future.

Mr. BABANGIDA ZAMA is an active member of the Deaf and disability community who have served diligently in the past as JONAPWD financial secretary in Kebbi state (2015-2019), chairman Danko/wasagu Local government Association of the Deaf (2009-2019), NADS president,shehu shagari college of education sokoto, sokoto state (2014-2015) Currently, Mr. Zama is Kebbi state DTAN secretary General and Secretary of Kebbi state Deaf sport Association. He works as a Classroom teacher at Secondary schools management Board, Kebbi.

Husseini Kabiru Omele

Mr. Husseini Kabiru Omele has dedicated 17 years to the teaching profession and is currently an Assistant headteacher at Mopamuro LGA Special School For The Deaf, Kogi State.

Mr. Mamman Isa is an Education Officer with the Kaduna state Ministry of Education where he has spent ten (10) years of dedicated teaching. He holds a B.Sc(Ed) in special Education with focus on English Language.

Hon. Gyang Joshua Zi

Hon Gyang holds a First Degree in Special Education & Rehabilitation Science from prestigious University of Jos. He doubles as the Secretary General of DTAN, Plateau State Chapter, Hon Member of Plateau State Disabilities Rights Commission, Education Officer 1, Federal Government College, Jos and Officer incharge of Deaf Unit, City Ministries of EMS/ECWA.
